After our morning dose of art and decay my cohort and I travelled south…and west. I had never been south through this part of the state before, and I was blown away by the vast open sky of the San Luis Valley. We didn’t have too much time to poke around as we were racing inclement weather across the valley and into the San Juan Mountains. The signs of spring were showing at local ski area Wolf Creek, and many water falls were beginning to thaw and flourish. We spent the evening in Pagosa Springs and enjoyed the relaxing and rejuvenating powers of the local hot spring before continuing our push west.
My next post will pick up on the edge of the Four Corners area and follow the adventure through the South Rim Park of the Grand Canyon.
