One City’s Holy Grail

The Gates facility in Denver has been a landmark of urban decay since 1991. The factory was built and grew from 1918 all the way through the 1950s by the Gates corporation. The company started in 1911 and began producing rubber tread in 1914. The main factory site remained empty until just a few months ago when demolition began. Despite the demolition a large portion of the site is still accessible for those so motivated.

This building has been at the top of the urbex food chain in Denver. Its a shame to see it come down, but at least I finally crossed it off my list.
